Will Ferrell is putting out a new Netflix documentary about his good friend Harper Steele coming out as transgender.

Harper and Will first met during his time on SNL, where Will performed, and Harper later became the head writer.

The two worked together for several years and became really good friends. Then, not too long ago, Will received an email from Harper telling him that she is transgender.

Will invites Harper to go on a road trip across the country to figure out what this all means, and just like that, the documentary is created: Will & Harper.

Just take a look at the trailer for yourself:

People are highlighting how important this is.

“Will Ferrell being a huge visible ally to trans people is cool as fuck because sooooo many straight boys I know idolize him and quote his movies constantly,” said this person.

“This film could save trans lives. Will Ferrell is a saint,” said another.

“Will Ferrell deciding to educate himself and others as well as supporting and loving Harper unconditionally when she came out to him really puts some other comedians to shame, huh.”

Will & Harper will be released in some theaters in September and on Netflix on September 27.
